How do I switch lines?

Hi,

So I am getting a new phone tomorrow, but I have a slight problem. I got it using another person's upgrade on my account, so it is coming with a sim card for that person's account. I want the new phone to be on my line though, so can I just put the sim card that is in my current phone into the new phone, then put the sim card that comes with the phone into the other person's phone, or is the process more complicated than that?
