Moto G activated and all seems to work except it won't accept calls from phone in same area code (same house) w/o entering 1+area code.
The exchange number on the cell phone must be a different from the exchange number on the landline. Both must be within the same local dialing area to be considered a local number. The exchange number is the first three digits after the area code. You have to check with the landline's telephone company to verify which exchanges are considered local to that number.
hhdelk,Wow, that is odd! If you place the call without the 1 does it give you an error message? Or does it not complete your call? KarenC_VZWFollow us on Twitter @VZWSupport
You should always dial the full ten digit phone on a cell phone. So many areas require ten digits, so it is a good habit to start and keep.
The problem was in dialing TO the cell phone from a landline. Yes, it
created an error message. "The call cannot be completed as dialed, you must
enter a 1 plus the area code." Tech support thinks it's a "roaming switch"
problem. Still not resolved though.

Thank you; surprisingly you are the first Verizon employee to know that.
How odd! I will followup with my local carrier and change numbers if
necessary. Thank you!
