I went to the "Verizon" store in the mall, thinking with the big logo out front that it was a company store, turned out to be a reseller. I initially went in to order a network extender and got to talking about my wife's current plan. She had an iphone 4S with an unlimited data plan. The rep said that I was paying a lot of money for that plan and I could greatly reduce the monthly charge by converting to a 2 gig plan. He showed us that my wife has never used more than 1 gig in the last year. Made sense but here's where it fell apart. Also talked about upgrading from 4S to 5S. He said the upgrade was $199 but would give us $76 credit for the 4S. We went with it only to find out later that had I gone to the real Verizon store, the upgrade was $100 with a $100 credit for the 4S making the change free. So I lose $124 on this deal. Didn't figure it out until I called Verizon to find out where my network extender was. Could not get them to answer their phone so I call a real store and found out they had it in stock. I had not paid the reseller for the extender so I bought this one and the reseller can be stuck with theirs for all I care. Here's my beef. Shame on me for not knowing this was a reseller (it is there in fine print) but shame on Verizon for allowing their resellers to charge anything they want to a Verizon customer.
