How do I activate a new Iphone 4S from India?

Hi

I bought iphone 4S from Amazon.com (Sold by Warehouse Deals, Inc) when i was on a business trip to US, now I am back in India. This looks brand new not activated phone and now i want to use this in India with another carrier as Verizon is not available here.

Please suggest steps to activate or unlock this for use outside USA.
