Text Msgs From Verizon In The Middle Of The Night

Could someone tell me how to stop getting text messages from Verizon concerning data usage on my daughters phone? It happens every month in the middle of the night. Last night at 2 a.m. I don't want to silence my phone, as members of my family work night shifts. Can I silence just these messages? Or have them stopped being sent to my phone?

I have a similar problem, getting "$35 has been added" texts about 2:00 in the morning once a month. I already set my account messaging level to Low, the lowest setting, which didn't help. I talked to a service person through online chat who said they fixed it, but they didn't. I still get them. 02:25 this last time.

These updates normally come through at night or early morning like that because the towers sync at about that time and the days total use is summarized and tallied at about that time. If you are near that alert level, it will send a notification.

I have an automatic $35 monthly plan, and never get close to using my allotted minutes. I get a message every month during the daytime that I need to add $35. Then that night or a night or two later, I get the text in the middle of the night that $35 has been added. Then the next day, in daytime, I get a text message that my $35 was processed.

Not sure which SMS program you are using, but I know with Handcent SMS you can set special notification sounds to specific numbers. See if you have the ability to set no notification sound to that particular texter.

I shut my phone off at night if I'm asleep it's asleep as well.. It needs it's rest too..

That was a good idea, but I didn't find any way of setting a special ring tone for text messages.

Maybe this will work? I saved the text message phone number, which turned out to be my phone number, and was able to set ringtone and message tone to none. Maybe? I'll find out at the end of the month. Thanks RushFan2112.
