"top 5% use 2gb of data or more a month"

Two gigabites is not even a drop in the bucket. My data use should not be THROTTLED(yes that is what you are doing) for using 2gb of data. Verizon needs to rethink this. I'm fairly sure that more than 5% of users, unlimited data or not, use more that 2gb of data a month. That is unless they have been forced on to a "share" plan of 2gb or less. Making customers pay more for less is not good business. When my plan is over I will be leaving unless Verizon does some major overhauls. With my business discount almost anything is better than Verizon.

For plenty of people, 2GB of data is a lot more than a drop in the bucket. I am one of those people on a Share Everything plan, but I was not forced. I chose to do so rather than pay for 4 separate data plans on my account. I had 2 unlimited data plans and was adding 2 smartphones which would have meant 2 more $30/month data plans. I now have more than enough data on 4 lines by sharing 4GB among them.

Giving people unlimited data so they slow down the network to a crawl and thus customer leave is not good business either. Mobile data is not magic and it's not unlimited. I'm not sure how you think hundreds or thousands of people in an area can use unlimited amounts of data and somehow the network is not impacted. That's clear sign of not knowing how mobile data works.

Now we can argue what is the correct amount of data but it sure as heck isn't unlimited. Also you have to take growth into account. Only 44% of devices are 4G devices yet they use up 69% of the data on Verizon's network. And that number keeps growing. If you don't see that as an issue .......... In fact less than 1% of all customers use up 50% of the data. Those customers are clearly unlimited data users and frankly that's not fair.

I have no doubts on AWS gets expanded to more places and more AWS enabled phones are activated and once Verizon kills off unlimited data that the cap will go up.
