Can I avoid being billed while I get my device fixed?

Hello all heres my problem the other day my phone simply lost all signal basicall it started getting extremely hot and then in the signal bars a red dot was there like the one you see when the battery dies and the phone shutds down its a motorolla bionic and so how do i have them freeze my account so i dont get billed while i get my phone fixed or try to buy another one

Oh no! We don't want you without a phone, locknessmanster. You can suspend service anytime by logging into www.vzw.com/suspend and selecting the option you'd like. The vacation suspend that Elector mentioned allows you to suspend up to 90 days at a time for a total of 180 days per year. I'm sure you will not need that long though.

As for the phone troubles, it is normal for a phone to get warmer when it's in use, charging, or working to find a signal that may not be available. However, if it is getting extremely hot to the touch, I would recommend bringing the phone and all accessories (chargers, batteries, etc) into a Verizon Wireless store http://bit.ly/3SdsA for a hands-on evaluation.

You can go to your online my verizon web portal and suspend without charges.

There is also suspend with charges. You want the first one.

After 90 days (each suspension can be 90 days if needed and only done twice on your account ) you can suspend again if necessary.

Just to clarify ... you can suspend twice in one year (total of 180 days per year). The way it's currently written implies that you can only suspend twice total (at least that's how I read it).
