Employee discounts apply to the employee who has to be the account owner. If you are now the account owner, then any discount available to you would be based on YOUR employment. The discount does not extend to dependents. It is directly tied to the account owner/employee.
Although you may have some benefits as the widow of a former government employee, the Verizon discount is not one of them.
