Any scrolling tips for Droid Eris?

I'm new to touchscreens. When I scroll through my contacts on the Phone page, I keep making accidental calls. Is there an area on the screen that is less sensitive or a technique to avoid doing this? I've tried using the trackball for scrolling, but I'd like to use the screen the way it's intended. Is the screen overly sensitive and if so, is there a way to adjust it? Any help appreciated!!

First, practice "swiping" rather than "touching". You can also practice by swiping down the far right edge of the screen. That way, if you accidentally hit a contact instead of swiping, it will just open their contact info rather than calling them. Lastly, notice that when you "swipe" through your contacts, a little gray tab will appear on the right edge, which you can then grab and drag and it will display what letter of your contacts you're in at the time on the far left, which is kinda handy. Try those things out first.
