cant text after changing my number

I changed my mobile number and now it will not complete texts. sinple sms texts, not imessage BS

Let's ensure text messages and all other services are working on your device. Do you have any issues with voice calls or data services? After completing the number change was *228 ( send ) option 1 completed this will activate the new number.
