call from skype in USA to phone overseas

Question

I am in Thailand for a couple weeks. Using a global phone with the global plan.

I know phone to phone calls are expensive.

I know skype to skype is free.

What about someone in the U.S. using skype to call my verizon 10 digit number directly ?  I assume these would be normal international (expensive) charges on my account.  Is that correct ?

Do something like Viber or Tango. You could even do Skype to Skype calls if you have a wifi connection. If they use Skype to call you VZW 10 digit number then they will pay for Skype credits and you will pay the per minute rate that VZW charges for phone calls.
