I am going to be traveling outside of the country and I am told i can purchase a sim card to use there to keep form using so much data. Can I unlock my iphone to allow use of my sim card?

Since this is a forum for the iPhone 4, I'm sorry to tell you that your device is not global capable, and is not able to use a foreign SIM card.
