Charged my LG G 8.3 tablet all day, now it won't turn on. Not sure what to do or what happened, please help!
ALL EVERYONE NEED'S TO DO IS..... 1) TAKE A DEEP BREATH 2) GO AHEAD & THANK ME NOW
THE FIX IS QUITE SIMPLE, THERE IS NO WAITING FOR 4 HOURS FOR IT TO MAYBE DO SOMETHING WHILE CONNECTED TO A COMPUTER. DON'T BOTHER FIGHTING WITH MULTIPLE CORDS OR OUTLETS.
HERE IT IS THE FIX TO SOLVE ALL G PAD 8.3 LTE CUSTOMER FRUSTRATIONS,.............
1- HAVE THE ORIGINAL CHARGER OR ANY OTHER QUALITY MICRO USB CABLE PLUGGED IN AND READY TO GO
2- WHILE THE TABLET IS NOT PLUGGED INTO THE CHARGER HOLD DOWN THE POWER BUTTON FOR ABOUT 10 SECONDS.
3- WHILE STILL HOLDING THE POWER BUTTON DOWN PLUG IN THE CHARGER AND THEN GO AHEAD AND RELEASE THE POWER BUTTON.
4-WITHIN 5 SECONDS YOU SHOULD SEE THE BATTERY SYMBOL POP UP, FROM THERE THE BEAST IS BACK GIVE IT SOME TIME TO CHARGE AND JUST LIKE THAT, SHE LIVES!!!!!
I'm having the same problem with same device.
Hi Ruthdialtan,Oh no! I know how frustrating it can be to have a device that will not power on. Are you using the original charger that came in the box with the device? Has there been any liquid or physical damage to the device? Does the device have a case on it?Thanks,PamelaF_VZWTweet us @vzwsupport
Having same problem with original charger, tried multiple different outlets, no case, nothing changed from the time of purchase.
Still under warranty if no physical damage so LG can fix or vzw will replace but they send you a box u send tab in and they send another one out to you
Yea. Mine just died too. A worthless piece of trash.
I'm having the same problem. No damage. Nothing changed since last use...just not turning on/not showing charging. Checked plug in with my phone & that is charging just fine Haven't even had it a year!
I am having the same problem. My battery discharged because of non-use. It will not recharge, will not turn on. I've only had my LG 8.3 LTE tablet since 5/2014. I am using the charger/cable that came with the tablet. The charger/cable is kept in a protective zipped case, so there is no damage to the charger. I have tried 2 different outlets (both working for other things) but my tablet will not recharge.
What is the problem?
I'm sorry you're having issues with your tablet ssnowandsurf . I know its frustrating. I recommend checking the charging port on your tablet to ensure its not loose or damaged. Are there any problematic apps on your tablet? If so, when you are able to turn it on, remove those to check if that will resolve the issue. Keep us posted.KinquanaH_VZWFollow us on Twitter @vzwsupport
If the tablet won't turn on, and it won't charge, how am I to check the apps? That doesn't make sense.
Samille
You should adjust the battery level that the tablet shuts off at.

I can't do anything. The battery is dead and won't recharge.
Having the same exact problem. What to do? Go into a store to see about warranty info? Where is a number we can call?
wgrrl...I went to the Verizon store this past Friday and they tried charging the tablet with one of their cords and charger. Would not charge. My tablet is still under warranty so the clerk in the store wrote an order (or whatever) and today I received a box from FEDEX with prepaid envelope to sent my tablet to LG electronics for repair or replacement.
Here's how I fixed it. Plug it into a usb port on a computer for about 4
hours. This should bring it back to life.
didn't work for me....mine was dead as a door nail!
I'm trying your suggestion, plugging the device into my computer. Approximately how long before I see an icon of some kind, indicating the screen is responsive, or that the charge is "taking" / hope that the device is not "dead"?
I've got the same issue. We have two of these LG G-Pads and the newer one (used for maybe 4 or 5 charge cycles) wont charge at all. Too bad these don't have Qi capability. Guess it's off to the Verizon store once again. Sigh.
I do hope you're able to get your tablet working, wgrrrl. Did the tip from kmapplebeck take care of your concern? When you plug it in, does anything light up or error out? Try also plugging it into a wall charger for about 30 minutes then with it still plugged in, press and hold the power button about 30 seconds. Mine, which is 3 months old, went down for the count the same way yesterday. Went down to 0% charge and will not charge back up, nor come on. I have 5 Android phones (different makes and models), 4 Android tablets (2 LG, Asus and Samsung) and have used Android since the original Droid years ago.....have never had one act like this. Have used different chargers, attempting to charge for several hours with each. Twice I managed to get it to show me that it was at 0% charge, but it won't even do that any longer. Won't start, won't reset, won't charge....it's now a paperweight.
Same here. It's happen to me twice, now. First within 5 days of getting the tablet, so they just gave me a different one at the store. Now, about 2 months later, that one has ran out of juice and won't charge up at all. Now it' just a paperweight. I guess it's back to the store for me, too.
BACKTEES21 ... Thank you. This is the first thing to actually get my tablet to start charging.
This worked!!! Verizon needs to put this on the top of the page. Holy Moly!! Thought I was going to have to hassle with getting a replacement. Note to self, never go under 15% battery life again. Thank you for this!!!
That battery can't handle being discharged much below 30 to 35% without a problem as a general rule. The boot up will take a large voltage and current draw and prevent a normal startup. If that happens it will require a hard start and good recharge. And thank you BACKTEE21. good job :smileyhappy:
BACKTEE21....Sorry man, I took a deep breath, but I waited until I got the unit working before thanking you...not that I didn't trust you or anything.
Anyway, it didn't work the first time I tried it, or the second, but I kept playing with it trying different things. I think what did it for me, and I only mention it in case it helps someone else, is that I held the power button for longer than 10 seconds, quite a bit longer.
So thanks again!!
Worked perfectly
I plugged mine into the computer and it turned on right away. Battery was at 100%. What is up with this thing?
Thank you all so much! I've had my tablet dive March and love it. It quit yesterday and I made a long trek to a Verizon store today, only to be told we would have to wait over an hour.... Holiday traffic! Anyway, came home, found this information, tried it.... And my tablet has life and is on a charge. Thanks especially to BACKTEES21... You definitely saved many of us on here! Happy New Year all!
My tablet has done this twice. Instead of plugging it into a USB as suggested. If you hold the power button and the volume down button it will reset without losing your data and cut on immediately. Hope this helps.
I just got my tablet yesterday,so I haven't had a chance to run the battery down yet, but my tech-nerd ex-husband did warn me about this tablet's battery discharge problem. Thanks to all for giving me peace of mind about the battery issue. I'll try and be aware of the battery life, but at least I know there is still hope if I do forget to charge it enough one day.
I had the same problem, but if you hold the power on/off button for a very very long time, it will come on. Someone mentioned pressing the on/off and volume button ~ Pressing the on/off and low volume button at the same time will create a screenshot.
