How do I cancel service?

After being 7+ years with Verizon wireless service, today I am really disappointed the way customer support treated.

Two days ago talked to customer support about an issue and was told that it will be resolved as soon as her supervisor is back from lunch. When I checked my account today the issue is not resolved. I called the support asking an update about the same. Today they are saying they cannot fix it( completely opposite to what I was told just couple of days back). I really want to cancel the service.

You can start service with another carrier and port your number - that will automatically cancel your Verizon service.

You can also call Customer service or go into a store and cancel in person. If you do want to keep your number though, go to your new carrier and port the number over. cancelling directly with Verizon will result in losing the number.

Keep in mind that any lines that are still under contract will be subject to an ETF, and starting service with a new carrier can cost quite a bit upfront - new phones, activation fees, etc. Consider your options carefully.

You have to call customer service to schedule termination. When I say schedule, I mean, it will cancel on the final day of your billing cycle and you will still be responsible for the final month of service and the ETF.
