My iphone 4s started the recent update at 6:35 yesterday evening and it's still updating and I can't use it what should I do

I am so sorry to hear about this ongoing update. Lets put an end to this update. Is the device plugged into the computer updating? If the device is not plugged into the computer try holding down the power button and home button at the same time. If the device is plugged into the computer, unplug the device from the computer and then hold down the power button and home button.
