Question about trade-in and ETF

I am switching to ATT. Since my 4 and 4S will be useless on ATT, I wanted to trade them in to verizon for a verizon gift card. Am I able to do the trade-in after I close my account and can I use the gift card to pay my ETF? I assume its on the final bill.

This is my opinion and my advice - sell the phones on eBay, Swappa or to a friend - you'll likely get more money that way.  And use that money to pay the ETF.  

Take an honest look at the condition of the phones, search eBay or Swappa for similar phones to see what the going rate is.  I can pretty much guarantee you won't get close with a Verizon trade in.
