Global service in Canada

Droid Razor Maxx HD - I signed up for a Global package.  Where we are parked we have WiFi.  I want to use my global service for a secure connection but am not sure if it is enabled.  Screen icons show WiFi.

Quick Settings:

     Module data OFF

          Mobile Network settings

               Data enabled: unchecked

               Global data roaming access: Deny data roaming access

     Preferred network type: Global

What do I need to change so that the Global data is accessed when I choose to use it only,.  I can use WiFi for other stuff.  I have tried to chat with Verizon to no avail and don't want to use my precious 1,000 minutes I bought for emergencies

We hope you are having a great time while you are in Canada, JK69! In order to use the global data package service you do want to enable the data as well a global data roaming access.

Once they are enabled you should then power the phone off/on and it will work for you.
