Family Plan to Individual Plan with unlimited data

Hello everybody,

I have a family plan with 2 lines and one of them has unlimited data. Both lines are still under a contract.

I no longer need the 2nd line, but want to keep the unlimited data. Is there any way to split this plan without losing the unlimited data? What happens if I just cancel one line?

I certainly don't agree with Pherson. You should be able to cancel the line you no longer need. You should simply be placed on an Individual tiered minute plan of the variety your current Family plan. Your minute allowance would change, though, as the minute allowances were different between the Individual/Family Nationwide plans. For Family, I believe the levels were 700, 1400, 2000 and unlimited. For Individual plans, the allowances were 450, 900 with maybe a couple more levels too.

Your unlimited data should not be affected as long as you cancel the line without the unlimited data. You will be on the hook for the ETF, though.

If you wish to keep the unlimited data leave the plan as it is. There are no single line plans currently available for you to switch to that will allow you to keep that feature.

I certainly agree with rschnoor. The key is to leave the line with unlimited data on the same account, just reduced to one line.

Both of you are incorrect. Sorry to say, especially if the line the OP wishes to cancel is the one with the unlimited data. You can only switch minutes if staying in the same class I.e. family to family or individual to individual. The op is not doing that.
