On March 14, 2014 we went into a Verizon store in another state to add a line for my son who recently graduated bootcamp. We requested a 2 year contract and asked how to cancel if he was stationed overseas. The representative in the store told us that Verizon would not cancel the contract he would have to upgrade to the international plan. She suggested we get the Edge program for one year. It would allow him pay on the phone for a year and then at the end of the year the phone was his and he would not have a contract. We agreed and she rang us up. When it came time for a receipt she had issue with the printer and could not print the receipt. She then told us to look online at our contract. Unfortunately we did not follow up and have now since found out she lied about the contract. It was deliberate fraud. This behavior is appalling. When I called in and asked to complain it was suggested we go back to the store. Well the store is two states away so that won't work. Verizon has offered no resolution. I am willing to pay for the year because that was what we agreed to however as the representative pointed out they have a 2 year signed contract. It truly saddens me that Verizon will not stand behind their word. I am only asking for what we agreed to. I am willing to pay the early termination fees and leave the plan. I have been a loyal customer for 5 years but no more.
