Factory delete data

I need to delete my data as i am being asked for a passcode, which requirement appeared out of nowhere, as i have never had a passcode requirement. the Verizon Store told me i had to factory delete my data via itunes on my computer. i cannot even get to the proper place in Itunes to even find the "delete" section.
