Is verizon59.com a legit service?

I just received a call from the pre-programmed contact of tech support on my phone. It was a pre recorded message that roughly said, go to verizon59.com, sign in and claim your reward of getting $59 off your bill next month. Now, going to the site, it has the same look as the log in verizon screen. Doing a quick search online, no one is talking about this. Is this reward a legitimate reward from verizon or is this some sort of scam?

I got the same exact call. For sure a scam. You can sign in with any credentials you like. Everything works. Doesn't even have to be a Verizon phone number. I used my google voice phone number and invented a password. Would you believe I was a winner? I called the real Verizon support and reported it

Folks, the voice in the recording is the exact voice you hear when you call Verizon. The page looks like Verizon. The links go to the correct Verizon sites. Only clue something is wrong is the recording when they call is a little rushed. It seemed strange that they would want you to enter your credentials a second time with even more personal info.

It took me to the next screen stating I would be receiving my reward shortly...lol

It's called "social engineering" or "phishing"...They're counting on you to put in legit info. Once you do your account is compromised.

did it also come up as 'technical support' on the call screen for you??? it just happend to me!! then when i try to call it back it looks like its going to load onto a site then just goes back to the regular call log menu. deff fake!

Just received the same call, for $59 credit. Called Verizon customer service and it is a scam to get your account information. Verizon will block this number for you, for free. This is a "call in" number, listed on Verizon's site, NEVER a "call out" number, meaning you will never receive a call from Verizon with this number. Hard to prosecute because because of international laws regarding websites and scams. Best bet? Ignore and block. Don't be a victim.

I was told by VZW support rep on 5/10/2014 that I could not get this number blocked on my line because it was a Verizon Wireless number. Not very secure that they allow this to go on, and even worse that they are doing next to nothing to prevent it, now my second line is getting the same calls.

I also got this same call. Today actually, 32 minutes ago. It showed up on my caller ID as "Bell Atlntc Nyn (800)922-0204" A pre-recorded voice instructed me to sign onto myverizon59.com. I did and my laptop wouldn't take me to the actually website and instead popped up that it was a "Phishing" website and I shouldn't proceed any further. I didn't and I don't advise you do either. I would have loved getting $59 off my next bill especially since my next bill will be the first bill after my upgrade to the s5. Anyway, have a good day!
