I'm an just fuming right now, I charged my phone (Nokia Lumia 822
) on Thursday and when I took it off the charge my screen was fried. Green and red dots some spots were white I'm assuming the pixels fried for some reason. I called and the CS rep basically said that even though I pay insurance on it, it would be a huge hassle to get it replaced. She said I would have to send it in and wait until they make sure there was no water damage before they would send me out a new phone. I was shocked that it would take so long but I just took her on her word. She told me about the edge program and said I was eligible if I wanted to pick out a brand new phone she could have it to me the next day. I picked out the new Icon and paid $62.94 for the Ohio sales tax and for overnight shipping. I activated my old phone (G'Zone commando) and went about my day. I called the next day to check on the shipping and get an automated message that my order was shipped and I would receive it Monday the 31st. I freaked out. I didn't want to wait all weekend for my phone and I paid overnight shipping AND the CS rep promised it would be next day! I called back and the CS rep put me on hold for about 20 minutes. She came back on the line and asked me if the previous rep explained the edge program to me. I said she had and regurgitated the info. She asked if the rep had told me my phone had to be in good working order to receive the new phone under the edge program.......uh...no! "my phone is broke and I told her that!" I said. She said she new I told the other rep because it was in the notes, that's why she was asking me. Sooooo she said she had to cancel the edge agreement immediately so I wouldn't get charged full retail for the phone. Then she tells me, That my phone is under warranty and she can send me out a new on right away. I would be overnight shipping but since it was Friday I wouldn't get it until Monday. MONDAY! So I told her that wasn't going to work for me and I would take it back to the store and return it there. She told me I couldn't that they don't do warranty exchanges in the store. I got the the phone and I thought BS! I called the store and he said they only do warranty exchanges in the store if the screen isn't cracked, there is no water damage and it's been less then a year that you've had your phone. Well...No, no, and yes. he said I could bring it to the store but it had to be thew corporate store. so I drove 40 minutes to the store and the guy who was helping said he could have done it, except they had already shipped my replacement phone. so needless to say I'm flipping out. I said "fine! I'll just buy one! I want the Icon in black." he said he can't sell me phone!!! He said my account was locked until I get my replacement phone and activate it!!!!!!!!! WTF! So here it is Monday and I still don't have my phone. FedEx tracking says it's on the truck but at this point I trust no one. If I don't get my phone today I'm going to AT&T! I can get a Lumia 1020 and pay about $100 less a month! And I'll be damned if I pay an ETF!!!
