edge does not add up

Dear Verizon,

so reset did not work. phone lasted me 3 hours today. I looked into edge but the cost is more than contract. in the end either way I own phone so why would it cost more? buying phone is great. but the plan is the same cost. why what am I missing? do you really want me to go to another provider? you use to be more flexable whats up? you have until 8-7-2014 to give me a reason to stay. also other carriers are less do you price match?

I want to stay I need a reason. I can get service today and just pay my balance due to you. I really don’t want to I love your company.

The Edge program is for those that want a high-end device, but can't afford it upfront. Other than giving you an explanation on the Edge program, I'm not sure what else you're asking. Your post doesn't make much sense.

I would suggest that you start here. After reading this information then you should ask specific questions. Remember that, unless you see a VZW logo in someone's avatar, we are all customers just like you. You attract more flies with honey than with vinegar. People will be less likely to respond if you're hostile towards them. :-)

Personally why should anyone have to coax you to stay?

If the plans are too high, or you don't like the phone selections then go to T-Mobile they pay early termination fees, but you will have no contract and you must pay full price for the phone, there is a $39 activation fee I believe I just read. And they just raised the price of their plans by $10 so the unlimited $80 plan is now $90 plus tax and surcharges and fees. Add in the monthly payment for the device at say $25 will run you $135 a month.

Or just go to AT&T or Sprint and get one of their plans. Yep you have many choices.

The Edge plan I don't endorse you will however depending on cell plan save a few bucks if you buy a phone over twenty months. But you must turn the device in to get a new one. It also must be 50% paid before you can trade it in. Not worth it.

Or go with a free or reduced cell phone and two year contract.

The choice is yours.

Elector, you do not have to turn in your Edge device once it is fully paid. You can then get a new device on a new Edge contract and sell the old device, if that is what you want to do.

Read my reply again. I was referring to trading in. That is how Edge works. Can trade in after 30 days after 50% paid on the device. Yes the device would be yours outright after 20 months. :smileyhappy:

I understand. I don't want to leave Verizon. I want to understand it. ok I get it (i'm thick headed). I want new phones I have phone the Samsung stratosphere . also after talking with some people I think the new way is to buy your phone? I have just been so used to getting a free (new every two) that it is hard to change. I also know either way I pay for Phone.

The Edge option does not tie you into a contract so when your phone no longer suits your needs or you simply want to change you can. Sure you will pay for the phone but VZW is giving credits so if you get a phone that is less money than the credit you still get a new phone and it might work to your advantage. Before you expect a credit you should make sure that you have the right plan and that it is financially beneficial to change if you need to. Don't shut out all of your options simply because they're different than what you're used to. The only thing constant in this world is change and these changes really do benefit us as the consumer.

Your right. I will not leave my Family. I'm just trying to make a good decision. I like the edge idea. and it sounds like I can keep phone if I decide not to upgrade and just pay it off. Thanks for your Kind reminder

I found it. this is what comes up when I attempt to upgrade:You have selected a Verizon Edge line for upgrade. Due to Verizon Edge program rules, you may only proceed with one upgrade on this order, at this time. You may upgrade your additional line(s) after completing your Verizon Edge order.

Does this mean I can only due 1 phone? Please Help

You can do more than one line on Edge but you can only do one Edge order at a time.
