Poor customer service

I am not happy with the recent customer service encounters I have had. I wonder if verizon is regressing to there old ways when they had the lowest customer service rank in the country. The person I dealt with was condescending and didnt seem to be happy with their job and talked to me like I was a 3 yr old. I asked for a manager and when he got on the call he sounded like he could care less. I am very disappointed.

Seriously like with ANY customer service job and dealing with people you'll always run into people who should be in CS.

Some don't care it's a paycheck. They are people too. Sometimes talking down of them and being condescending yourself has adverse affects and the person on the other side of the line who has done nothing to you may not want to help you. Some of the time they can't help you due to policies which people agree to.

I am not the original poster. They have the issue. I just quoted a fact that Verizon once held a top spot for customer service.

Now listed I think I read second from the bottom in the rankings.

It makes no difference how in essence a person speaks to a hired employee of the service you purchase. The individual should be trained to know that callers will be upset, mad, frustrated. That is what proper training would have told the representative. They are not trained pure and simple.

Additionally giving lip service is not true customer relations. Think about it. You want your issue resolved, not lied to or hung up on or just placated. People don't call for customer service to just say " Hi, This is Mr. Doe or Ms. Roe and I wanted to let you know that everything is just wonderful" people call for issues with the device or billing or reception issues and warranty assistance. Read what the people really get.

As a stock holder and a customer of this company I don't want my funds used to just hire kids to talk and giggle and laugh at customers. I want them to get real customer service. They know they get $8 an hour so its low but they are supposed to come to work and do absolutely nothing for those customers that pay their salary? No way!

And those policies should be explained to the customer, not lie and put them off. would that not get you angry?

I dealt with the public for over 35 years, never did I mistreat the taxpayer that paid my wages. There is only way to deal with customers and that is with the truth, and with a good sense of humor.
