What are Verizon Wireless' "Surcharges and Other Charges & Credits?"

Where can I find an itemized breakdown of how much the "Regulatory Charge" and "Administrative Charge" is? I've looked, and the boilerplate explanation is not what I want. Will I be slammed with this charge every month? It almost doubles my bill. That was a nasty surprise.

A Regulatory Charge (which helps defray various government charges we pay including government number administration and license fees)
A Federal Universal Service Charge (and, if applicable, a State Universal Service Charge) to recover charges imposed on us by the government to support universal service
An Administrative Charge, which helps defray certain expenses we incur, including: charges we, or our agents, pay local telephone companies for delivering calls from our customers to their customers; fees and assessments on our network facilities and services; property taxes; and the costs we incur responding to regulatory obligations.

Did you recently make changes to your account? Is this a new account? What you are seeing maybe activation fees, upgrade fees, or equipment charges which are one time fees.

Have you seen these charges for more than one month? If you log on to your bill online, and view details, not the summary of charges, it will tell you what these fees are.

I doubt your bill is doubled. My "surcharges and other credits" amount to $1.42 per line.

Federal Universal Service Charge .65

Regulatory Charge .21

Administrative Charge .88

There's also a 911 fee and state/local taxes which Verizon has no choice but to pay whatever the state government says to pay.
