I am an Alltel customer (now Verizon), and I have been assesed a $400+ ROAMING CHARGE from the use of my cell while in a business trip to San Francisco - in the US - . My business parter did the research prior to my trip and gave me the green light to use the phone - BASED ON ANSWERS SHE GOT FROM A LOCAL VERIZON WIRELESS STOREI WOULD NOT BE CHARGED ROAMING WHILE IN THE US - If I would have known that Alltel customers are not treated as Verizon customers (as I was told today Junw 19 2014 by a customer service rep. ) I would have not used my cell as there are MANY OTHER FREE means of communication out there these days. The same customer Rep also told me that I chose to keep "my CHEAP" ALLTEL PLAN and that Verizon only service my account. I WAS NEVER GIVEN AN OPTION TO CHANGE MY CHEAP PLAN" in fact I pay in excess of $300 /mo for three (3) lines.and these days, this is not CHEAP! Can I get an answer to this issue? I am facing the desicion to whether keep my Verizon account or take my "CHEAP" business elsewhere. I certainly can't pay those kind of roaming charges. It would be nice to get this issue resolve and of course to know what Alltel customers need to do to be treated fairly and equally. ANY AND ALL HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!
