Using default text message app, i see all contact pictures. Using the Verizon Messages app shows only some. Cannot figure out why some show and some don't. Brand new GS5...

some seem to be from Facebook some from google. My messages app definitely pulls Facebook photos.and Google pics.

You cannot remove it. It is a system app. I did remove the updates, turned it off, power cycled the phone, re-enabled it, installed the update. Still same issue. Samsung app works fine, some pics missing on verizon app.
I am having the same problem and it is driving me nuts! Just switched from Sprint and I keep coming across annoyances like this. If anyone knows how to populate the FB contact pix in the stock messaging app I would be very grateful. Also, Verizon charges for visual voicemail apparently but I cannot add since it's a corporate phone...does anyone know of an app that does the same thing?
Any update on this? The Verizon Messaging App is the only app that i can't get to sync contact photos. The regular messaging app on F5 does pull the pictures.
Same issue on my end. I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 and the samsung messaging app does just fine in using the FB picture for the contact photo. When I switch to messaging+ many contact photo's are missing. Please remedy this issue!!!
I have the same issue, contacts show up as default grey box with white outline of a person. If you click on that generic profile image it shows the persons image that is synced on the phone with Facebook. For some reason that image doesn't show up in the conversation list though.
Same here. Some of the photos are there and others are not. Verizon please help.
I read somewhere that 1 of the updates removed the sync between FB and the contacts.

same problem on new s5 all contact pictures but mine show in Verizon messaging app. mine does show in the stock messaging app.
I have the same issue. I tried the uninstall thing with no luck. Some pictures sync, some don't. Most don't.
Ditto. I can't get those pics to sync either. Any more ideas?
Have you guys found a different solution that is actually possible?
I am seeing the same issue. I've tried clearing the cache and clearing data on the Message+ application as well as the Contacts application. I have photos synced from Facebook as well as from Google Contacts. Some of my contacts (my wife being one of them) simply will NOT display a photo in the Message+ app. Google Messenger and Google Hangouts display the photo fine.
When I click on the generated text avatar next to her messages it displays the contact photo for her as it should. I have found that if I unlink her contact, the photo appears in Message+ but I would like the contacts linked.
Her facebook name also includes her maiden name so old friends can find her. If I link her Google Contact to Facebook her name in Message+ appears one way and if I link the Facebook Contact to Google it appears the other way so i know some aspect of the linking is working within Message+.
As I stated before, I am NOT having this issue with other messaging applications and I am NOT having this issue with all my contacts. At this point I cannot establish what the affected contacts have in common.
I'd love to see your device and the message + application running in top form. May I ask what version of the app you're currently running? Has this always been an issue with the application?

I am using the latest version from the Play store which is 5.5.30. This has been an issue since I started using the app a few months ago.

Thanks for the details. If the image appears when the contact is not linked then that may be the only way for the image to display in the application. I certainly understand wanting to keep them linked and be organized, so we definitely apologize for any inconvenience.

I use the application on my PC/laptop, and the photos either don't populate at all, or only a few will. a) where is the application pulling the photos from?
b) Is there a settings function I'm missing that keeps them up-to-date?

Is it safe to assume this still hasn't been corrected?? I have the LG G4 and it doesn't work for me either. The only contact photos that show are ones I have loaded myself for contacts, but not all of my contacts synced with Facebook. I am running version 6.0.2
