Long story short, I'm traveling in Europe and am unable to connect to the local cellular networks. At first, the device wasn't recognizing the SIM at all, which unfortunately has happened to me before. Before leaving this time I got a backup SIM for a secondary device I was bringing along just in case (phone #1 has the old larger SIM while the backup uses MicroSIM). When I arrived nothing worked and SIM was uncrecognized so I called global support to activate the new SIM to use in the new phone. On the phone for about 30 minutes getting everything straight before the rep realized that me being in a foreign country would not allow me to finalize the activation process. Certainly there has to be a way to get it to work. What happens if phones are lost or stolen while abroad, or damaged, or the device or SIM fails, or situations arise similar to mine...are we simply to be expected to be without a working phone until returning to the U.S.?
