My HTC DNA gives me a data usage warning, despite having turned off the warning and having over half of my data usage remaining.

I've restarted the phone multiple times, set the data limit to double what my actual plan limit is, and the warning to just under that as well.

Data is turned off and hasn't been used in over a week, and my bill was just payed today, as well.

This sounds like an annoying issues for sure. Let's get this alert removed. Under Settings/Data Usage. You have unchecked Limit Mobile Data Usage and Alert Me About Data Usage. Once those are done. I encourage you to reset the data usage to todays date and then power cycle the phone. If you still continue to have alerts come through. We want to make sure that we have cleared out our cache for this. You can go to Settings/App Manager and then Data Usage.Clear data and force stop.

Are you sure it is coming from the phone settings? Could it be from an application like an anti-virus app?

I'm fairly certain, since I don't have any sort of anti-virus app installed. Only have the bare essentials for the most part, a game or two, yahoo mail and a code scanner.

When I tap the icon it takes me straight to my data usage screen in my settings, and yes I do have the limit turned off and the warning turned off.

Thank you Robin, I followed your instructions to the letter, and restarted my phone afterwards, and the icon still popped back up.

I will say, I recently changed my data plan, it was the 250mb plan, which would be what i set my limit to before, and I recently raised my data plan to 500mb. I adjusted the limit and warning accordingly, and that's when this issue occurred. It seems to think my data limit is still 250mb, as its telling me that i am "83.22kb over the specified limit"

Gotcha! It sounds like the phone did not register that you changed your plan. I suggest that you wait until your bill cycles and then you start the new bill cycle. Keep us posted as we are interested in this too.

I received the text message and email confirming that my bill has been paid, and the data usage on my phone is clear, showing that I am in fact on the new cycle. I have restarted the phone multiple times, and followed your initial instructions again, and the icon still will not go away. Though, now it does say that I am "182KB over the specified limit" rather than the "83.22kb" it said yesterday.

If it might help, I will also say, I purchased this device through Tigerdirect.com and activated it through their instructions. My initial plan was one with a 1gb limit, I have since downgraded a few times, the 250mb plan being the lowest I have selected. As I said in my last post, I upgraded to a larger data plan, which would be the first time I've raised the limit, rather than lowered. With this in mind, maybe the phone doesn't understand this, as you said.

If anything changes I will keep you updated.

Not sure how or what happened but, for the time being, the notification has disappeared. The only thing I did differently was turn off a few background apps such as yahoo mail services and other location services.
