I pre-ordered the iPhone 6 last evening, but was not prompted to manage my existing device in any way. How do I go about receiving the credit for my current iPhone 4s?

Search and select your device, answer the questions including the one regarding purchasing an iphone6. The appraisal will reflect the promotional trade-in offer.
When you were pre-ordering there should have been a breen box underneath the phoen you were choosing to upgrade that said something along the liens of "Recycle your old phone". Either way, you can to it online through the link already provided or do it at your local VZW store. I personally would rather do it in person as opposed to mailing it in and possibly getting less that it was appraised for. Lots of horror stores on the forums about that.
