On Monday I was on the VZW website to make a partial payment to my account. I entered my credit card information and hit submit for my partial payment, but I received an error message telling me the card number did not appear to be correct, so the website redirected me back to the payment page to reenter my credit card info. What I didn't know is that it also reset the amount to be paid to the full amount rather than leaving it at the partial payment I had previously entered. I ended up submitting and quickly found I had made a huge mistake and paid a substantial amount more than the partial I was trying to make. I think this website redirect is extremely shady and I feel as though I have been taken advantage of. I contacted VZW customer service and I was initially told there was nothing that could be done because they were unable to refund a credit card payment. After calling my bank I was told this is absolutely untrue and that if a company has the ability to charge a card they can certainly refund. I called back and asked to speak to a supervisor and she said a refund was possible but my case would need to be reviewed by some other department that handled refunds. I was told there was no way to get a hold of that department by telephone and was only given a reference number. I was told it could take up to ten days to get a refund, but I have not been contacted by anyone as of yet regarding the status. Can anyone shed some light on this process? Has anyone ever gotten a refund? In looking at the other discussions in this forum it seems as though there is slim chance of getting my money back. My intention was to split up full amount into 4 payments over the month, because the balance was way to high to pay off in full. Having paid the amount in full has seriously placed a major strain on my family's monthly budget especially at the beginning of the month when rent is due. I've been a VZW customer since 2003 and I've never had a problem w/ payment like this before. I normally praise VZW customer service, but in this instance I am extremely disappointed. In this day and age with what technology can do, it should not take more than a few seconds/minutes to approve a refund and send it. Having to wait up to 10 days if absolutely unacceptable! I mean geez its been nearly 50 years since a man stepped foot on the moon with probably less technology than is available on my iphone! It all just seems like a punitive practice by VZW, and this incident has truly shaken my confidence in VZW as a brand and in their customer service. @
