Wireless Printing on the LG G3

I've tried everything and I can't print from my LG G3 to my HP printer. No app works, no settings I change helps. KitKat 4.4 is supposed to integrate printing with the addition of a printer plugin. For me it doesn't, I have no option to select 'print' to print anything. Can someone please help me or tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Did you install HP plugin? This is often preinstalled, but I noticed it wasn't installed on my G3 for T-Mobile and AT&T version. I don't have the Verizon version, but wouldn't surprise me if it wasn't. Try installing it and turning on printing, and it should search for your printer.

Printer Share Premium ($12) is what I installed on our Android devices. They are the company that Apple uses for easy air printing.

Works great. But it costs.

I have found the HP Printer App may work a few times with our one HP but not constantly and the Canon App for our Canon printer is useless as well.

This is one of the quirks with Android devices. Printing is iffy.

I wonder how Windows phones print from the device?

Yeah, I tried that. No such luck there. It definitely picks up on my printer, but that's about it. However, I have a new finding. If I'm using a browser it will print screenshots or pictures from the gallery. That's fine, but I want to print documents. I.E. text files, PDFs, etc. When I attempt to do that, there's no 'print' option. I've e-mailed LG directly. I'll see what they have to say. I was hoping a Verizon expert would have something to tell me here.

$12 is too much to pay for an app just to be able to print. I'm still waiting for LG to reply to me.

Are you trying to cloud print, or network print?

This is odd, since on my LG G2 there was an inherent print capability.

Did you try calling LG Support?

Yeah I under the cost is high. But if Apple devices can print to almost all wifi air printers I cannot see why androids cannot do so either. Very strange

I think it's one of two things. He either doesn't have a network printer OR he doesn't have cloud print setup online. Even with Apple Airprint you need to setup the network printer in order for it to work. So we need some more details about his setup.

If his printer is connected to a computer and not actually part of the network he needs to setup cloud printing and keep his computer on at all times to keep the printer available.

If his printer is connected to the network he needs his phone to be on the same network in order to print. If he isn't then he needs to setup cloud printing or his phone won't see it.

Exactly. I have a brother wireless laser printer. It has a static tcp/ip address. I had no problem using built in print capability.

I heard as well Big E that app works pretty well for some phones, my one Cousin uses it he Likes it really well and I'd think unless Noted I'd say the cost of the app is a one time fee correct..

Looked it up and found it's a Premium Key app these apps work along side of the Free app, I use EQ app it has a Similar type of Key app you pay if you want certain feature not always found on the Free Version. b

Yep that's the one I use on androids. Printer Share Premium. I put it on my wife's LG G2 however the HP app is terrible. Even with an air printer by HP it does not print. It says it is but its not printing. Go figure.

I still haven't figured out this issue. How do I use Google Cloud Print? Does it communicate with my wireless printer?

I just discovered this tonight. It appears if you open a file using ThinkFree Viewer if you tap and hold on the screen with the file you will get a second share icon in the upper right corner. If you select it, it will open a list. You will find the print plugin in that list for your printer. At least I did? If you select it, your wireless printer name will show up, you can then select it and you'll be given options to print. **Warning** It prints extremely slow, however it's free.
