Just received Eris update! Works awesome but some HTC widgets missing and a few other things

The phone seems much faster now, I love it. There are only a few things.

1) My Facebook contacts don't seem to be syncing yet, maybe it takes a little while

2) I can't find the weather/clock widget, or any clock widgets in the HTC widgets. There are only a few available, when you click on add more you see a few more but it is not there. When clicking on update it just keeps saying no additional widgets available.

3) This is going to sound crazy but I can't find where to set the trackball settings. In Sound and Display you can set the blinking LED light for calls, SMS, etc. but no trackball? This one I probably am just looking in the wrong place.

Does anyone have any ideas? I am sure I can't be the only one. Thank you all in advance!

Also I don't have the 3D Gallery thing but maybe that was not included in the OTA update

Ugh I'm having the same problem..also do we not support live wallpapers?!

The clock and weather widget is big for me, I look at that all day long! Also I don't have a calendar HTC widget in the list either. It was like the entire HTC app list didn't load correctly or something.

I know and I miss the Twitter widget and the msgs one..I can't seem to find a way to put my bookmarks up either..

Having the same problem with Facebook.

When I try to link a contact with facebook it says there are no matches found. I've got the phone setup to sync with my facebook account but except for my contact card nothing else will sync up.

I had a similar problem when I updated my Droid Eris today. I think I found a way to get your HTC widgets back, however.

If you take the battery out, plug it back in, and power up the phone your widgets should once again appear. This worked for me, and now I can access the clock/weather widget, etc.

Having the same issue. Mine updated fine this AM, went to do my wife's phone this pm, and it seemed to go ok, but now all the HTC widgets are missing on hers. Weird.

Anyone else having issues with the eris after update and ringtones no longer working correctly?

OK, I received the update a few days ago and after using the phone here are the issues....ATTN: HTC AND VERIZON, please help. If I had to stay with this update as is it actually lowers my outlook on the phone compared to the 1.5, which was slower in general but I felt like I had my arms around it.

1) I am definitely missing many HTC widgets including weather, clocks, etc. I don't have the full screen weather animations anywhere either. When I click update HTC widgets I get a message that I have them all already.

2) The phone does not lock/sleep when you push call end any more, you have to wait until it times out. This is way more annoying than you would think it would be. You can't put the phone in your pocket until you are confident that keys won't be pressed, ie, it has to be locked.

3) I can't find a setting anywhere for the trackball, before I had it for phone calls and calendar reminders.

4) My battery seems definitely to be draining faster. I recently upgraded to an extended battery that now seems like it is going faster than my old standard one did on 1.5

5) The editing of the dictionary is ridiculous as you can only delete one word at a time and then it throws you back to the top of the page.

6) I went through all of the settings to try to save the battery as before but it seems like some settings are missing compared to 1.5

7) I don't have any of the toggle widgets that I used to have such as internet/gps etc.

Other people have reported problems with ringtones, Facebook syncing, and contacts and luckily I haven't had any problems with these.

Can I bring my phone to a Verizon store or somehow try to download the OTA again? I don't think I can keep the phone as it is, it is like part of the update didn't get through or something.

having the same problem......so far this update has me frustrated.............Nothing like it did.............I can't even get speed dial to work.............contacts don't sync properly

Mine seems to be doing the same thing... the update is awesome but its frustrating tht everything isnt working properly!

Anyone figure out a way or shortcut to turn the screen off after the update? The red end call button no longer does this.

The main problem I've had since the update was it was extremely laggy and battery dies much faster but it seems to be getting better

BTW

I had to do a "factory reset" and it seems to have solved most if not all my problems.

Was a pain to set everything up again, but I think it was worth it.
