What are my options for using my Verizon iPhone 6 in Europe next summer?

I just bought an iPhone 6 through Verizon. Will I be able to use it during my trip to Europe next summer? Is there website somewhere that tells me what I need to do? The Verizon website seems totally unhelpful on this subject, and so far I'm not having luck Googling for specifics.
