I'm getting pretty concerned about this process.
I took advantage of the $200 trade in deal (sent in my perfectly functioning iphone4 as part of upgrading to the iphone 6). I received the envelope from Verizon, then received my iphone 6 in the mail. I followed the instructions to deactivate my old phone, put it in the brown envelope from Verizon, and put it in one of those public blue, locked USPS mailboxes to make sure it didn't get stolen out of my own mailbox. I put it in the mail on October 3rd. I'm sure there's high volume, so I initially wasn't too concerned. I sent a message to the support people through the trade in website. They gave me a canned response about high volume. Fine, no big deal. This was a couple weeks ago.
As of 11/12, I still see "Not Received" on the trade in site when I go to check the status. So I followed up with them on 11/7, and I haven't received a response.
What concerns me is that a friend of mine, who lives in the same city I do, mailed his phone (as part of the exact same process) on 10/16, and received his $200 rebate on Friday, 11/7.
I've read through the posts here and it seems to be a mix of satisfied people and people who got far less money for their old phone than expected. I'm not seeing a lot of posts about people who are waiting as long as I have been. So my main questions are: Is anyone in the same boat as me? And, if so, has Verizon done anything to help?
I'm hoping this is just a situation where my phone has actually been received but is sitting in some gigantic disorganized bin waiting to be pulled by the workers. I'm hoping it's not a situation where it's just completely gone missing. If that's the case, I'm not going to be very pleased, and I'll probably pull my business. I never would have gotten rid of my prior phone if I knew this process was going be so disorganized.
I appreciate your responses.
