Unless the contacts were backed up somewhere, then you are out of luck.
Are you on iPhone or Android?
Unless they were backed up you cannot do anything. If you have the Backup Assistant program and you are on a feature phone or dumb phone (not a smartphone) you can redownload your contacts from backup assistant if they have been recently backed up. You'd probably want to uninstall and reinstall the program, because one time I lost my contacts, went to back them up again, the phone knew they ahd all been erased from the phone and I lost everything.
That is incorrect. Backup Assistant is also available for android phones as well. You don't need as you say a "dumb phone" to be able to utilize the service. There are several options depending on whether the original poster is using iOS or Android. On Apple as long as you are using your icloud email address then everything is automatically backed up unless you specifically turned it off. On Android as long as you are signed into google then everything is backed up as well. Until the original poster we are left in the wind.
I am sorry I was not clear with my response. I know it's available for other phones, I was stating a quirk with flip phones or dumb phones rather that this happens with. I had BA on my S5 and also on my iPhone 5s and now on my 6. I was just trying to say if there was a problem on a flip phone this was the way you had to get it done. I worked with Verizon on a previous basis and have worked at various other phone stores since 05.
And also, the instructions were for a flip phone "dumb phone" because unless done intentionally and knowing what you were doing, the contacts could not be erased all at once from a smartphone such as an iPhone or Droid. You'd either have to restore the phone (in which case the OP loses everything), or erase one by one. In this instance, the OP states that her granddaughter erased the contacts accidentally, leading me to believe by going into settings, and pressing manage all contacts and delete, this could have been done by a child just playing with the phone.
