why can't i delete imported photos on my iphone?

I traded in to get an iphone 6.  The store imported 3000 photos onto my iphone6..  I want to delete some of them, but there is no delete option.

Sorry to hear about any unwanted photos that made it onto your new device! You can delete your photos by opening an album or collection, touch "Select" in the upper left corner, and choose all the individual photos you want to delete!
