Has the Android for the Commando 4G been updated lately. My son's phone will not update on manual command.
adam246, Thank you so much for reaching back out to us. I want to make sure that we are able to get this completed with no troubles. Let's try to do the Factroy reset from in side the phone. Here is a link that will provide you wtih those steps: http://vz.to/1zbbL81 Keep us posted. KevinR_VZWFollow us on Twitter @VZWSupport
My Commando is showing 4.1.2 but I'm not sure if this is the latest. There was an update pushed to my phone in late October that has caused battery life to drop to only a few hours from it's normal day or more life.
DRBILM Making sure the siftware is current is important. Go to settings, about phone, and view the Build number. The current version is C811M070 4.2. How is the Commando working, overall? SheritaH_VZW Follow us on Twitter@VZWSupport
Am having same trouble - my build number is "C811 M070", Android version is 4.1.2
Phone is really sluggish overall, battery life seems really reduced, touchscreen acting up, apps freezing. Came here to find out what I can do. System updates check says it's up to date.
Am willing to do the hard reset but I am not sure what is going to get wiped out as far as apps, photos, etc. and am not sure how to go about backing all that up before I do the reset? Any help? I do have the Backup Assistant Plus but I think that's just for my contacts, right?
Also, is there going to be another new Gzone smartphone rolled out soon?
We appreciate you sharing with us your phone info and experience, adam246. Let's help out with your phone too! A hard reset is definitely a great troubleshooting step, but I recommend wiping the cache partition. This can be performed by following these steps: http://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-103959/ When you reach step 5, please choose Wipe Cache Partition - Not Wipe Data Factory Reset.Once the cache is clear, please proceed to step 7 to shut down your phone, and then restart. Keep us posted if you see a difference in device performance.NicandroN_VZWFollow us on twitter @VZWSupport
OK, thank you for your prompt reply. I am trying your suggestion but must tell you that when I get to step #4 here at the site you gave me (Perform a Factory Data Reset (Device Powered Off) Casio G'zOne Commando 4G LTE | Verizon Wireless) and it says to hold the Power, Volume Up, and Menu buttons until the Android robot displays ... there is no Android robot that displays! It goes from the "G'zone / Now Loading ..." screen straight to the red "VERIZON" screen with the big checkmark logo on it. After that, it's just the normal phone screen face w/ compass, etc. on it. So - when am I supposed to let go of these 3 buttons exactly? Am excited to try this but it's not working as written. Thanks!
