Back camera stopped working. Is there a fix with software or is it a hardware issue?

I have a droid ultra xt1080. It just stopped working on the back yesterday. Front camera works fine.
Any input would be good.

Thanks for the extra details, justmeagain69. What happens when you try to use your back camera? Are you using the original camera application or one downloaded from Google's Play Store? The icon on the screen to reverse the phone doesn't show up. Did change camera programs....that I know of. Not sure if an update might have added anything. Tried on web repair program, but didn't seem to do anything.
