How do I wipe clean or hard reset my android if it was lost or stolen?
If you set up Android device manager then you can do it online or from the Android device manager app on another android device. If you didn't set it up or something similar then there's no way.
Very easy to do as Tidbits pointed out if you had Android Device Manager already set up. First locate your device through the Device manager webpage on your computer or any android device, sign in and then send the "Erase Device" command. You'll be warned about losing your information, and that once you wipe the device you can no longer locate it. This makes complete sense, as you're no longer signed into Google on it anymore.
After making that single click, your device will shut down and reboot into recovery and preform a full factory data reset. If the device gets shut off before it can reboot, it will reboot into recovery FDR the next time it's restarted.

I also did not tell you that some phone makers have their own locate and wipe clean programs, that you may also use if you set up an account for your phone at time of purchase.
