Why does Verizon NOT offer the Samsung Note Edge?

The edge is coming to Verizon. It has passed FCC so we are just waiting for Verizon to release it.

Verizon doesn't think it should give info to its customers so we are left guessing on a date.

The current speculation ( again because VZW refuses to communicate) is around the 21st.

All carriers didn't give a date on release either. I didn't realize T-Mobile released theirs until my boss brought me one. Personally I think it's one of the biggest gimmicky thing Samsung has done to date. I put it in my desk drawer. Lol

They wouldn't even post here that it was going to be released on Verizon(whatever vzw). As for the date, people see it on other carriers and wonder why Verizon doesn't have it. Sounds like a reasonable question.

Just a thought........ give yours back to your boss so it can be utilized correctly.

If you say so. That's something a person who is caught up in marketing will say... utilized correctly. I know how it is used and what it does. It's still a gimmick and a niche to get people to buy something "cool"

I'm excited about the note edge myself. People can say it's just a gimmick all they want-- I don't care. I also will admit I like have the newest thing out there. The extra 100 to me isn't a big deal. I just wish verizon would give reasons. I don't care to wait, I just hate not knowing why I'm waiting.

I spoke with Verizon today. Verizon rep says Samsung hasn't released the phone to them. Spoke to someone at Samsung, they say that the pre-order for Verizon will be at the end of March 2015

I think both gave you some bad info.

I would have stuck with vzw because I bought into the coverage sales pitch but after getting p i s s e d about being left behind the cutting EDGE I realized I only need a cell company that services where I live, who cares about some map.......

So I'm getting my Note edge from another cell provider that the Web says has even better coverage then vzw in my area.

Frustration gone.......

Any information about phone availability and/or launch dates will, with any company, be made public via a public announcement, and advertisement. Until this announcement, neither general employees nor even the savvyest of customers and end users will have this information. Coming to these forums to try to procure information that has not been publicly released is futile.

Check the Verizon website, and the Samsung website. If the information isn't there, it isn't here.

lol you're paying MORE for a smaller battery and a second screen that adds nothing. If people want to waste money, let them be fools.

While some may see it as a waste ( I personally would not pay extra for a sunroof but would for the phone) many are interested in the phone and might feel um in the dark as to if/when it comes . If it isn't coming say so, if it is, give us info. Just don't drop it on us

If you don't want it,dont buy it. If it doesn't interest you, QUIT POSTING on the thread entitled "Note Edge". Frankly, there are many people that are interested, and feel the extra screen is worth the extra money. The Edge screen serves a very useful purpose for me in particular, and will be well worth the money.

I see that the Note Edge for Verizon is listed on Samsung's website. I'm due for an upgrade on the 29th. Trying to hold out for it to be released.

Agreed. It's frustrating enough to have to wait for the phone release (especially when opposing companies have had it out for almost two months) , but it's extremely frustrating to have NO information on even an expected timeframe. I put off upgrading to the Note 4 and now have waited in limbo for weeks with absolutely no information whatsoever. The delay is one thing, the complete lack of information regarding basic timelines is completely unacceptable in my opinion.

I was due for an upgrade in April of this year. I put off upgrading because of rumors that Samsung might produce a phone like this, and then did, and then it appeared they might release it to the U.S. market (not just Korea), and then did, and then Verizon indicated they would carry it. And now, nothing.

The thing is, performance matters to me, too -- my existing phone is dismally slow, even after a full factory reset and re-install of apps. The Note 4 is also a great phone, and if Verizon hadn't announced they'd be carrying the Edge, I probably would have upgraded to it back when Samsung was offering a $200 trade-in. But I passed that by, too, in anticipation that Verizon would carry the Edge, which is the phone I really want. The longer we have to wait, the more "yesterday's technology" the Edge--and the Note 4--become.

The only thing that makes sense to me is that Verizon thinks a straight answer regarding the delay will make more people jump ship. And that, itself, concerns me.

Where I live, AT&T has comparable coverage, though Verizon's nationwide coverage is clearly better. I'm keeping my options open, including buying an unlocked phone full price (assuming that will work on Verizon's network?), or leaving for another carrier. But at the very least, I'm not terribly inclined to give Verizon a 2-year contract for their business under these circumstances.

I don't see why Verizon would even offer this phone. Except for the gimmicky curved glass edge it is almost identical to the Note 4, which is already available from Verizon.

I love how the Verizon reps read these post and try to say they want to keep us as Customers. They then turn around and reply with the standard caned company reply" I have no information on the device". All that does is make us even more upset and frustrated. Either give us honest info or don't reply at all. Those kind of standard replies is what is driving us to other carriers.

The bottom line is Verizon could careless about their existing customers!

I have heard that they are releasing it around January 15,2015 from a rep at a store. They should start preorders soon also.

People, seriously. Such frustration and anger about not knowing for sure whether one specific model of phone will be available and when? Really? This is the most important and worst thing going on in your life right now? Its worth getting all angry about? Its a phone, people. A phone.

Get some perspective. Go help out at a homeless shelter, or visit old folks at a nursing home. Then see how abhorrent and frustrating it is that you don't have information about a specific phone is. See how terrible it is that you might not be the first to have this device. Booo frickin hoooo!

I have an appt with AT&T rep tomorrow and my Galaxy Note Edge in White is waiting for me. Verizon you really blew it with the way you handled this device release. More and more of your customers are going to keep leaving when you have such POOR regard for your loyal customers. Like several others in this thread, I would have been willing to wait for a "bit" , if you had JUST COMMUNICATED a potential date and acknowledged your delay , and done ANYTHING more than just given a canned response about " no info , and sign up for the emails " . 6+ weeks we have been waiting for INFO updates , much less a device - while the other 3 carriers were delivering to their customers! My line will now belong to AT&T and I will try to convince and steer as many of my friends as possible to leave you and stay away from you Verizon . You don't care about having good customer service and good customer relations any more. People are going to start noticing and leaving in larger and larger numbers. And no, I don't even care anymore that Jan 8th is a rumored date. You lost me Verizon and as many people as I can take with me. Can't wait to see your sales numbers in Q1 2015! Good hunting to the rest of you in this thread- I hope that you will find another carrier and consider leaving Verizon ASAP.

It was almost too late for me, I was minutes from buying the Note 4 last week. My wife and I have been waiting for the Edge since we first saw it, so I figured I would give it another week or two. Glad I waited, but not happy that we had to wait so long.

What gets me is that technology these days is almost out dated when it's released. So delaying the release for 2 months limits the newness of the tech. It's still a bad phone

It totally makes sense. Let people know way too far ahead about a release date, and then you get way too many people wanting the device on that exact date, and you end up with the Apple effect. Your system gets overloaded, shipping gets delayed, lines stretch out into the street, people end up all angry and irritated because they wanted their device on that date, but they have to wait while others got their phone that day.

You can't as a business reliably guarantee a specific date when people will be able to purchase a highly sought after device. Doing so just leads to a situation where you can't honor your guarantee.

thank god I left.......... it is hard to realize you have put your faith in a company that is bigger then you and me and no longer thinks its image matters, but I want what I want when I want it and Verizon no longer provided me that. thank god at&t NOW has great service where I live.

I also realized my home internet provider was falling behind the curve and switched them out too. So I guess I owe Verizon a ty for pushing me.......... thank you...... :smileyhappy:

no complaints with my hopper from dish......... some companies stay up to date with consumer demands.
