I would like to swap data plans from one line to another .... one line ( mine ) has a data plan but i dont use the data and my wife would like to start to use a data plan ... but i dont want to set up another line just for that ... she has a basic and im stuck with data .... can they swap it so that we dont have to change all our contacts and stuff

It sounds as if you are on a Nationwide plan. As long as you keep your smartphone, you will have to have a data plan on your line. If your wife adds a smartphone, she will also have to add a data plan.

If you currently have unlimited data, the only way you would be able to give that unlimited data to your wife would be if you simply switched numbers. You can still keep your current phone, just switch numbers from 1 phone to the other. If a discounted upgrade is purchased on the line with unlimited data, you would lose the unlimited data.

If you don't have unlimited data or don't think your wife would necessarily need it, you may be better off switching to a More Everything plan. This way you would be able to choose a data allowance you both could draw from instead of both of you having your own separate data plan on your Nationwide plan. If you switch to More Everything, nothing would change with your contracts and unlimited minutes/texts would be included in the plan.
