Hello, I have a AT&T galaxy s5 that i unlocked recently. I see that the towers are not compatible or something to that matter, do i need to root/flash the firmware so that it will recognize the Verizon towers? Im not very savvy in this area.
There are no CDMA radios in the AT&T version of the Galaxy S5 nor would the IMEI number of the device be in the database of compatible devices. Plain and simple, it isn't going to function properly.
If you go to menu > settings > About phone > Status - they'll be a group of numbers in IMEI & ICCID. Those have to be registered with Verizon. To do that you have to have an account with Verizon.
Take the phone in to a Verizon store. If it can be used they will help you.
Ann154 is correct you need CDMA radios ..not GSM radios, use the phone with Straight Talk.
