I'm in Puerto Rico for two months and want to make sure that there is no additional costs to using the phone as usual. I have to turn on data and voice roaming to get the same service though. Will this cost me?
Thanks in advance!
Since we do not have towers/service in Puerto Rico, you will be roaming through local providers there. So the Extended Service indicator is normal. However, while you are roaming, service in Puerto Rico is considered the same as your normal service back at home.
This means there are no extra charges for calls, texts, or data access while in Puerto Rico.
However, if you receive a message for roaming whilie on a cruise, or you pick up signal for a different country while traveling, that usually will have a charge. The message received will include the charge details too.
