Why would I have data usage of 1.2099GB at 7:16 am on a Sunday when I am asleep?

I have never watched a movie or tv show on my phone or computer. I have only downloaded a few things in a couple of months like my verizon bill.

I'm not understanding why my last bill was over 11 GB. Average monthly GB was 6.02. (my plan was for 8GB of course I got notices I was over and had to increase for more $$$) Also I have usage every 12 hours which changes by one minute on the following day. I have tried to contact verizon by phone 8 times today, never got through, love technology but can never get a live person anymore! What am I missing here? Thank you for reading this.

Usage does not get reported immediately. It can take a number of hours, and even more hours if you used data in an extended area of coverage.

Do you have automatic updates turned off? Do you kill all apps when you're finished so they aren't running in the background? Do you turn off cellular data while on Wi-Fi?

The time stamp is when the cell tower reports the data, which can be 6 and sometimes longer time after the actual usage. The towers send a report every 6 hours as a maximum, which is why you are seeing the 6 hour time interval. Is this a phone, tablet or jetpack? Do you use hotspot?

I appreciate your response. I have a jetpack, laptop and Samsung Galaxy cell phone. Since the 8th I have been unplugging the jetpack and keeping a log trying to figure out where the usage is coming from. Going to check my updates to see if it is on auto., also may try to find an app killer to download on cell. Not using a hotspot. Thanks again.

If you Search The app store for things like 'battery saver' or 'app killer' you'll be able to shut off all the apps you aren't currently using. Even if you don't have an active app open, unless you close them out all the way, they are going to waste your data in the background. The other thing you could do, would be to connect to wifi. As long as your connected to an internet source, they won't use any of your GB.

But the time is just when it's received by the tower. It doesn't mean that you did use the gb at that point in time, but at some time during your billing cycle it was used.
