Will two phones call forwarding to each other make a loop?

Question

My wife and I want to switch phones for a day. If we both set call forwarding to each other's phone, will we get our calls on the other's phone or will they get lost in a forwarding loop?

If your phones are LTE phones all you need to do is switch the Sims between the two devices.
