Excessive data

We have 15 GB of data to use. There are only two of us. We very seldom look at any more than a half an hour of videos in a month. Never stream movies or anything like that. We just don't use an enough data for it to show that we you so much. Is it possible for someone else to be using your data and you not know it even though you have a password? What do we do?

If you are using your jetpack as your wifi, you will generally end up using more data when you use the jetpack's wifi rather than LTE on the phone or ipad. Some things are set not to download until you are on wifi. Also if you connect a computer to wifi, it will use much more than a tablet or phone.

I can absolutely understand your concern with this. What phones (make/model) are you using? Are you close to going over your allowance each month? What other activities, besides watching videos are you using your phone for? Games, emails, etc? Please share some additional information so that we can get to the bottom of this for you! Thanks!

My phone is an IPhone 6 plus and my husband has an IPad Mini. Neither one of us stream movies or look at more than an hours worth of videos a month. I also do not use my email that much. My husband receives email, but he doesn't send any. We both feel there is just no way after checking data usage that we use 15+ gigabytes a month. Our main concern is if anyone has been able to use our account and use up our data, even though it's password-protected. All of our Internet is supplied by a jet pack. I was told by a Verizon representative to turn off our WiFi and use only LTE whenever possible. Now I find after doing some more checking that the LTE loads data faster making our usage more and not less. Is there anyone at Verizon that can help us. I have checked with everyone I know and everyone says there is just no way that we can be using 15 GB of data. I checked my iPhone for this last month and I had not even used a gigabyte. My husband had used at the most on his iPad, 4 GB. What could possibly be going on?

You have provided us with a lot of information. It sounds like you have a jetpack, an iPhone 6, and an iPad Mini on one account. Have you checked your data on your jetpack to see if this could be using your data? You can log in online at verizonwireless.com and check your usage for each device.

My IPhone took 6.966, the IPad was 2.248,and the Jet pack was 5.996. So do we use LTE, or do we use Wifi more? What will be better for our Data package of 15gb? Really confused as I have been told WiFi is better, and then told just lately I should use LTE.

Assuming your Jetpack is your only home internet access, when you use wifi for your phone & tablet, you are still using the Verizon data service from your jetpack. Bottom line is you are using Verizon data.

Now the question for the techies on here - would it make any difference in your total usage if you use Data on phones and tablet vs wifi. Interesting to consider ...
