Disappointed

I'm disappointed with Verizon. I've been a customer since 2001 and have never been so disappointed in a company. I have the LG g2 and love the phone. recently updated to lollipop and now my phone it's all but useless. the battery life has shortened, the keyboard keys either don't work or the wrong key is entered, my home button no longer functions along with several other glitches. This is a Verizon update, yet I'm told this was my fault in that I need to purchase a new phone.they said I'm available for an early edge....I'm puzzled why I need to purchase a new phone now when it was Verizon's update that messed my phone up. I went round and round with customer service and I've had it!! 14 years witVerizon is enough.... my t mobile phones are in the mail!!! by the way it took me 15 god damn minutes to type this because my keyboard doesn't function well. thanks for nothing Verizon!!!!

As an actual owner of 2 LG G2 VS980s, do this, it worked for BOTH.

Factory Reset

1. Stay plugged into charger for the entire process

2. Charge to 100% and back up music, photos, files etc...contacts should be saved to Google Account and use Google Drive or Google Photos to back up with as well and apps are saved in a list in your My Apps screen in the Play Store app and online using the desktop page.

3. DISABLE Google backup and restore of apps and app data in your Backup and Reset tab in your phone's main settings screen.

4. Factory Reset the phone

5. Unplug from charger at 100% recharged

6. Set up your phone however you like to include apps from your My Apps screen in either the Play Store App or from the PC webpage version

7. Leave phone on until it powers off

8. Leave off and recharge to 100%

This is my usual process and I have had no issues.

The reasons for disabling app data is due to the fact that DAVLIK is now ART and the Android Optimization process might not go as planned if you just slap the new OS over the old OS. Also, when you go back to the Play Store to download apps, they will be the correct version this time for this OS.

Have you tried to factory reset your phone in order to resolve some of the issues you're having with your LG G2?

As suggested by the community, a factory reset is recommended. Has that been done yet? If so, how is the battery and keyboard? How about the home button?

Most people just back up everything and reset..but they either don't think about or don't know about the last paragraph as it relates to especially this last OS update.

I just finished the 4th factory reset to Snn5's recommendations. Still not

working properly. Keyboard glitches... typing "f" I get only "d", "y"

gives me "I".. and so on. I can't even set up the phone with gmail because

I can't enter my email address!!!! Thanks for the help Snn5, but I am

starting to think this is a gonner. I can't tell you how helpful Verizon

has been tho, as you can see from the above response hahaha. The real

frustrating thing was "customer service" told me (in a nutshell) it was my

fault for updating the phone. I should note however, that I did follow the

proper instructions when I initially updated the phone AND it was in

perfect working order prior to the update. If anyone else has an idea I'm

willing to try it..
