I can't find an answer to that question anywhere on the website in my account information. I just want a straight answer.
Smartphone or basic? When did your plan start? How many lines?
$350 for smartphones but the amount taken off per month depends on contract start date? For instance a February 2014 start date would be $350-$10 (per completed month) = ETF, but other plans that started at a later date, after November 2014 I think, have to wait longer before the money starts to drop.
I only want to move 1 of my 3 phone lines to AT&T. Rather than expensing one phone every month, my company will take over the number and provide a new phone - but they have a contract with AT&T. The number I want to transfer is the only one still under contract. My company won't pay the ETF. I had transferred an upgrade from this phone to my son so he could get a new phone for his birthday - not realizing that it extended the contract on THIS line vs. my son's. If I transfer another upgrade to this line, will the end of contract date switch, thereby allowing me to transfer this line with no penalty?
Typically, using an upgrade will extend by 2 more years from the date the plan starts again. (the date you took the upgrade)
I dont think any number of transfers will change the outcome. Verizon stopped allowing people to use upgrades from other lines and activate those new phones on old lines. Whichever line takes an upgrade, no matter if the phone is used on that line or elsewhere, takes the contract.
