I have the prepaid Samsung SCH-i110 android phone and either the battery is failing, or there is a problem with the radio and/or antenna.
The phone is running Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread
Baseband Version - i110.03 V.GA1
here are the problems that I'm having:
1: any use of the 3G mobile network causes my phone to overheat and drains the battery.
Last night, I charged the batt for 6 and a half hours, and when I woke up this morning to use the internet, the mobile data completely bled it out in less than 30 minutes!
2: modem/baseband has problems transmitting to the tower.
Web pages take forever to ping, calls or text messages often fail to send and require re-transmit
HOWEVER, the receiver part of the phone works fine.
3: erroneous signal strength.
as long as it can RECEIVE signal from the tower, it shows good signal, however, when a transmission like loading a webpage or sending a text message is initiated, the coverage drops out when the tower cannot hear my phone talking back?
4: voice calls are noisy.
several times i have initiated a voice call, only to find it full of static and illegible.
I don't know if this problem is directly related to the battery, or if those problems are a product of the bad radio reception but any use of the RF circuitry in the phone destroys the battery! I can't keep it charged because it dies too quickly and the phone gets really hot!
could it be an electrical problem?
software glitch?
antenna?
